Easy Three Ingredient Oven Roasted Tomatoes

An easy to make staple item to use for sauces, bruschetta, or anywhere a "pop" of tomato flavor is desired.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 each large roma tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Equipment

  • 1 Chef Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Sheet pan

Method
 

  1. cut the stem end off of the tomatoes
  2. slice in half lengthwise
  3. in mixing bowl, toss tomato halves with oil and pepper
  4. heat oven to 350
  5. place tomatoes on the sheet pan, cut side down
  6. place pan on middle rack of oven
  7. cook for one hour
  8. remove from oven and allow to cool
