Memphis Style Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ounce Yellow onion peeled and small diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic peeled and rough chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • ½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • Tbsp. Molasses
  • 2 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Louisiana style hot sauce
  • cup Ketchup
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey

Equipment

  • 1 Chef Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 Blender Immersion, (standard also ok)
  • 1 Measuring Spoon Set
  • 1 Kitchen Scale
  • 1 Measuring cup set

Method
 

  1. Gather and measure all ingredients.
  2. Heat a small saucepan over medium low heat.
  3. Add the oil to the pan, followed by the onion and garlic once hot.
  4. Sauté until lightly softened, about 3 minutes.
  5. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  6. Allow to simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Blend until smooth with an immersion blender.
