Method
- Heat a small saucepan on medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the vegetable oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan evenly.
- Add the onion, and allow to caramelize to golden brown, stirring occasionally. (about 5 minutes)
- Add the minced garlic to the pan and stir to mix.
- Add the dry spices and cook until fragrant.
- Add al remaining ingredients to the saucepan, stir, and simmer for about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Using an immersion blender, blend to a smooth puree.
