Ingredients
  

  • cup ketchup
  • 4 ounce onion finely diced
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic, fresh minced
  • 3 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1⅓ Tbsp. chili powder dark
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar light
  • tsp. Worcestershire sauce Lea & Perrins preferred
  • 2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. black pepper fresh ground

Equipment

  • 1 Chef Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Measuring Spoon Set
  • 1 Kitchen Scale
  • 1 Saucepan small
  • 1 large spoon

Method
 

  1. Heat a small saucepan on medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the vegetable oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan evenly.
  3. Add the onion, and allow to caramelize to golden brown, stirring occasionally. (about 5 minutes)
  4. Add the minced garlic to the pan and stir to mix.
  5. Add the dry spices and cook until fragrant.
  6. Add al remaining ingredients to the saucepan, stir, and simmer for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  7. Using an immersion blender, blend to a smooth puree.
